Our Specialties
Making the decision to seek change is courageous. We believe in working with each person to create a personalized and integrated plan. We use talk therapy to explore your concerns and medications only when appropriate. We draw from a variety of disciplines including psychopharmacology, psychodynamic therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and mindfulness.
Anxiety & Depression
Symptoms such as stress, constant worry, panic attacks, sadness, poor motivation, or struggles with self care are often connected to our patterns of relating with the world and/or past trauma or disappointments. There is usually so much more beneath the surface of what we simply refer to as ‘anxiety’ or ‘depression.’ Exploration of these underlying causes can help shift our experiences and provide relief.
Relationships
Whether it’s navigating a new relationship or wanting to connect more deeply with the people already in your life, learning your patterns around communication and connection can help you engage differently, think more clearly, and better communicate your needs. This can apply to romantic partners, family, coworkers, and friends.
Life Transitions
Whether a happy occasion or not, a big change can cause lots of new emotions and disruptions. While a new job, graduation, or a big move may be things you planned and worked towards for a long time, the transition may require some support to help you land in your new situation. The same, of course, goes for other types of changes such as the loss of a dear one or a romantic break up.
Fertility
Whether the disappointment of infertility or the enormous life change of having a new baby, parents often need additional support to weather these challenging time periods.
Trauma
Whether emotional, physical, or sexual, trauma can be tremendously disruptive to our well-being, both in its immediate aftermath as well as many years later. Taking the time to understand the impact of trauma on your life and learning to navigate the symptoms of PTSD takes time, guidance, and support. In addition to our own experiences with trauma, we cannot underestimate the toll of intergenerational trauma carried and passed on through generations.
Identity
Whether around race, gender, or sexuality, we welcome exploration and curiosity. Worried your gender got in the way of that last promotion? Curious how your race has subtly or not so subtly played a role in your life experiences? Interested in exploring your sexuality or gender expression? We’re here for it.
